About Mandy Webster

Mandy Webster is a writer, reviewer, editor, publisher, and the creator of Write on the World, a literary blog dedicated to exploring books beyond plot summaries and star ratings. Through in-depth reviews, literary analysis, author interviews, and writing advice, she helps readers engage more deeply with contemporary fiction while offering practical guidance for aspiring novelists.

Through Write on the World, she draws on her experience as a writer, editor, publisher, and college writing instructor to examine how stories work, why they matter, and what writers can learn from them. Whether discussing a newly released novel, interviewing an author, or sharing insights into the writing process, her goal is to foster meaningful conversations about literature and the craft of storytelling.

As a fiction writer, Mandy writes under both Mandy Webster and Amanda L. Webster. Her work explores the unsettling spaces where truth, silence, and human darkness collide. What began as young adult fiction has evolved into genre-blending work that draws from horror, thrillers, feminist themes, magical realism, and literary fiction—stories that linger long after the final page and resist easy answers.

She is the author of seven novels, a poetry collection, and a collection of drawings created during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of #Inktober. Across genres, her work is drawn to what is hidden or ignored, illuminating the quiet tensions beneath everyday life and the moments when those tensions break.

Mandy is also the founder and editor of Elderfly Press, an independent publisher dedicated to stories that haunt, provoke, and demand to be heard. Through anthologies and book-length works, the press champions bold, genre-crossing writing that challenges cultural silences and explores the darker edges of human experience. She has edited anthologies including Beautiful and Terrifying: Tales and Visions from the Edge of the Uncanny (2026), Bad Moon on the Rise: An Anthology of the Unsettling (2025), and Make No Apologies: Early Feminist Writings: In Celebration of 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage in the United States (2019).

She holds a Master of Arts in English with a concentration in creative writing from Mount Mary University and a Master of Science in Business Management with a concentration in strategic management. In addition to her work as a writer and publisher, she has taught writing and literature courses at the college level for several years and has led creative writing workshops through her local community college.

Her combined experience as a writer, educator, editor, and publisher informs her work on Write on the World, where she explores contemporary fiction, interviews authors, and helps aspiring writers strengthen their craft. In 2013, she received the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society’s Individual Blog Award.

Whether she is analyzing a newly released novel, interviewing an author, helping writers navigate the publishing process, or crafting stories of her own, Mandy remains fascinated by the power of literature to challenge assumptions, spark conversation, and reveal what often goes unseen.
